The Four-Fold Demands: A Voice to the World
The Declaration and Pledge from March for Gaza 2025 laid out four key sets of demands aimed at instigating change across multiple fronts:
1. Demands to the United Nations and International Community
Addressing global inaction, the declaration calls for:
- Holding Israel accountable for its actions through international courts.
- Moving beyond ceasefire declarations to enforce effective measures that end the genocide.
- Restoring pre-1967 borders and recognizing East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.
- Guaranteeing full statehood and self-determination for the Palestinian people.
2. A Call to the Leaders of the Muslim Ummah
Highlighting the intrinsic bond between the Muslim world and Palestine, the declaration urges every Muslim leader to:
- Sever economic, military, and diplomatic ties with oppressive regimes.
- Impose comprehensive sanctions against entities supporting these oppressive actions.
- Extend humanitarian assistance—providing essential food, shelter, and medical aid—to Gaza.
- Stand unwaveringly against actions undermining Muslim rights.
3. The Stand of the Government of Bangladesh
Calling for introspection at home, the declaration demands that the government of Bangladesh:
- Revise policies that compromise impartiality and fail to support Palestine.
- Cancel agreements with Israeli-linked institutions and channel humanitarian aid to Gaza.
- Embed the history and struggle of Palestine into the national educational curriculum.
4. The People’s Pledge: A Call for Self-Responsibility
This declaration resonates with every citizen, urging personal commitment by:
- Boycotting products and organizations linked to oppression.
- Educating the next generation about the true history of resistance and freedom.
- Channeling the unity and resilience of the Gaza movement into positive domestic change.

Below is the full Declaration and Pledge presented at the March for Gaza 2025 in Dhaka, reflecting Bangladesh's voice for justice and solidarity with Palestine.
From this march and mass gathering, today we present our demands across four key levels with an aim to reach four different sets of stakeholders— Our first set of demands is directed to the United Nations and the international community Because—the United Nations and the international community claim to uphold the rights of all nations and to prevent occupation and genocide; And because—what we are witnessing in Gaza—the daily bloodshed and destruction—is not the failure of a single government, but the outcome of a collective international failure; And because—this failure is not limited to silence alone, but rather, many states within the Western power bloc have actively prolonged this genocide by supplying arms, funds, and diplomatic support to the occupying state of Israel; And because—the current global order has entered a race not to hold Israel accountable, but to shield and protect it from scrutiny; Therefore—we strongly call upon the United Nations and the international community to: 1. Ensure that the genocidal crimes of Zionist Israel are brought to justice through international courts; 2. Move beyond mere calls for ceasefire and take effective, collective actions to end the genocide; 3. Create binding obligations to return to the pre-1967 borders; 4. Formally recognize East Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Palestine; 5. Opena clear path toward the realization of Palestinian self-determination, security, and full state sovereignty; Because—the mask of justice worn by the global system has now fallen amidst the rubble of Gaza. Declaration and Pledge March for Gaza | Dhaka | 2025 In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful We begin in the name of Allah— The One who is All-Powerful, The One who establishes justice, The One who stands with the oppressed, and determines the fate of the oppressors. Today, we—the people of Bangladesh, who know the history of oppression and carry the spirit of resistance—have gathered to stand with the fearless people of Gaza. This gathering is not merely a protest; it is our response before history— a pledge, a commitment, a solemn oath. Our third set of demands is directed to the Government of Bangladesh Because—Bangladesh is a Muslim-majority country, whose very struggle for independence was rooted in the spirit of resistance against injustice and oppression; And because—we believe that on the question of Palestine, Bangladesh holds a historic position not only on the side of humanity—but also on the side of faith; And because—as a democratic state, the government has a duty to honor the moral and faith-driven aspirations of its people; And because—the people of Bangladesh have pledged to stand with Gaza, and therefore, silence at the state level amounts to a disregard for this public will; Therefore—we firmly call upon the Government of Bangladesh to: 1. Reinstate the condition “Except Israel” on Bangladeshi passports and clearly reaffirm the country's position of not recognizing Israel as a state; 2. Cancel all agreements made with any Israeli institutions or entities; 3. Establish an effective state mechanism to send humanitarian aid and medical assistance to Gaza; 4. Issue official directives across all government institutions and import policies to boycott products from Zionist companies; 5. Register an official state-level protest against the ongoing persecution of Muslims and other minorities under India’s Hindutva regime—because Hindutva is no longer just a local ideology, but a close ally of the global Zionist bloc; 6. Incorporate the history of Al-Aqsa, Palestine, and the struggles of the Muslim people into national textbooks and education policy— so that future generations of Muslims grow up with a strong understanding of their history, heritage, and identity; Because—a state is not just a boundary; it is a trust. And —if we fail to protect that trust, history will not forgive anyone. Our second set of demands is directed to the leaders of the Muslim Ummah Because—we believe that Palestine is not merely a piece of land—it is a vital part of the identity of the Muslim Ummah; And because—Gaza is no longer just a war-torn city—it has become a painful reflection of our collective failure; And because—every member, every state, and every leader of the Ummah is entrusted with a sacred responsibility towards Gaza—bound by the brotherhood and duty given by Allah; And because—Israel is an illegitimate, occupying, genocidal state that has mobilized all its power to erase the first Qibla of the Muslims and annihilate an entire population from Gaza; And because—India’s Hindutva ideology has now become the regional representative of the Zionist project—carrying out systematic persecution against Muslims; And because—the recent interference in India’s Waqf property laws has stripped Muslims of their religious and historical rights—a clear warning to the entire Ummah; Therefore—we firmly call upon the governments of the Muslim world and the organizations representing the Ummah, including the OIC, to: 1. Immediately sever all economic, military, and diplomatic ties with Israel; 2. Impose commercial embargoes and sanctions against the Zionist state; 3. Stand firmly beside the oppressed people of Gaza by providing comprehensive support—medical aid, food, shelter, and defense assistance; 4. Launch an active diplomatic campaign to isolate Israel on the international stage; 5. Take a strong and effective diplomatic stance against the deprivation of Muslim rights under India’s Hindutva regime—especially against state aggression like interference in Waqf laws, which must be recognized as an assault on the Ummah as a whole; Because—before we drown in shame at the flowing blood of Gaza, standing beside Gaza is the only path to honor for the Ummah, And—any leadership that remains silent today will inevitably face the judgment of history tomorrow. Our final set of demands is directed toward ourselves— which is, above all, a solemn pledge. Because—we believe that Al-Quds is not merely a city—it is a part of our faith; And because—we know that the liberation of Bayt al-Maqdis will not come through others— it will be written through the hands of our own generation; And because—we understand that the rise of Zionism is, in essence, the consequence of our own forgetfulness of identity and responsibility; And because—if we do not prepare today, then Allah forbid, our children may one day inherit a Bangladesh where Hindutva and Zionism together create the next Gaza; And because—Gaza is a mirror for us—in which we see that to be a believer is not merely to survive, but to stand firm in struggle; Therefore—we, the people of this land, citizens of this Muslim territory, children of this nation, and above all, members of the Muslim Ummah—make this pledge: 1. We will wholeheartedly boycott—every product, company, and force that upholds Israel’s occupation; 2. We will prepare our society and future generations— who, In Sha Allah, will preserve and restore all symbols and heritage of Islam and the Muslim Ummah; 3. We will raise our children with a mindset—ready to make the ultimate sacrifice of life and wealth to protect their ideals and homeland; 4. We will not be divided—for we know that a divided people are easily conquered. We will remain united— so that this Bangladesh never becomes the next Gaza under any Hindutva-driven project. We will begin from our own homes—embedding this pledge in our language, history, education, culture, economy, and society. And we will remember: The martyrs of Gaza do not seek only our prayers— They seek our preparation [We must remain ready, so that when the time comes, we do not hesitate to join them.] Final Words: Peace be upon the honorable people of Gaza—upon those who have shown unmatched patience, who have borne witness to unwavering faith. who have ignited the flames of resistance amid the rubble, and have carried the pain of global silence and indifference with smiles on their chests. Peace be upon those whose names are etched in the scrolls of honor— Peace be upon Hind Rajab, Reem, Fadi Abu Saleh, and all the martyrs, whose blood has made the sacred land of Gaza even more sacred, whose eyes blazed with the fire of resistance. Peace be upon the proud residents of Bayt al-Maqdis, in whose hearts still echoes the cry: “Al-Quds lana” —Al-Quds is ours! To the people of Gaza, congratulations— You have composed an epic of faith, patience, and sacrifice. You have shown the world the true power of faith and trust in Allah. We, the people of Bangladesh—from the land of Shah Jalal and Shariatullah—stand and salute you. We send our love and greetings to your martyrs. And from our lips rises this prayer: “O Allah, turn this courageous land of Gaza into the very stone upon which every Zionist conspiracy shatters.” On behalf of Bangladesh’s people, Palestine Solidarity Movement, Bangladesh.
